Software Engineer

BlueWave is hiring a software engineer for an AR/VR client with headquarters in central Florida. As a software engineer, you will be joining the software development team working on the technical development of software products and processes including schedules, methodologies, requirements, analyses and documentation, design and coding, configuration and data management, testing, processes, review, & data inspection.

Responsibilities:

• Support of internal and project level reviews, working groups, vendor technical interchange meetings, peer reviews, code walk-throughs, and other project deliverables associated with the software delivery life cycle.

•  Determine user requirements and specifications and plan for software development within the broader organizational scope. Software development includes end-user, system-level, and data management applications.

•  Formulate detailed plans for the implementation of software solutions. In addition to program design, this includes determining language, platform, and resource requirements. 

•  Implementation of design including coding, testing, and documentation.

•  Deployment of applications across the enterprise including cross-platform compliance and ensuring the availability of necessary resources.

•  Code maintenance including debugging and updating to keep pace with the evolving environment.

•  Assist in planning for future applications based on new developments in computer technology.

•  Communicate with the software developer group, with users, and with management as well as with the wider community through the publishing and presentation of technical papers.

•  Regular status updates will be required to show progress and annunciate roadblocks early.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering/science field

• The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable of software testing and test analysis (regression, timing, failure, etc.) and have an understanding of the configuration, build, and delivery authorization processes of software development/delivery.

•  Experience programming under Linux or Unix and one or more of the following: C, C++, JAVA, ACL, or Jview is required.

• Must be a self-motivated, team player comfortable with working in a dynamic environment.

• Previous experience with Agile or other similar software methodologies is a plus.

• Experience with the full life cycle of software processes (design, development, and delivery) for highly critical software is a plus

• Excellent communication, presentation, and customer interface skills are required.

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects

•  Computer experience with Microsoft Office products, Internet browsers, and Outlook

• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary.
