Job Description

BlueWave is hiring a QA Lead for a hospitality leader with headquarters in Orlando As a QA Lead you will be position is responsible for assessing requirements, design documentation and other project artifacts to develop the QA test approach while working with project teams. In this role, you will create and execute the corresponding test strategies, test plans, & test cases as needed. 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform QA risk/impact assessment of each assigned project based on a detailed review of requirements, design documentation, Use Cases, and other key project artifacts

  • Develop high-level and/or detailed QA functional test estimates based on requirements and risk factors. Define test approaches and test strategy documenting test scope, scenarios, and resource effort 

  • Develop QA test scenarios, organize test data and execute planned test cases/retests as required. Communicate established QA standards, processes, and procedures to the project team throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Update and maintain assigned project status and defect management reports in Jira/HP Quality Cen

  • Provide technical, procedural, and direct assistance to team members (e.g Agile team, QA, UAT) for all project activities. Participate in testing activities supporting Production Validation, recovery, and emergency releases

  • Lead and participate in QA process improvement research, planning, and implementation efforts

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of  2 - 4 years experience leading QA project activities within medium to large projects

  • Experience building automated test cases using Selenium

  • 2- 4 years with Agile and Waterfall software development life cycle (SDLC)

  • Experience with full quality management lifecycle for application development and delivery

  • Software Testing or Test Management Certifications from ASQ or QAI (CSTE, CQA, et al) 

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business requirements, design documents, and other project documents to determine risk factors and critical test conditions

  • Demonstrated understanding of key business functions, transactions, and reporting methods

  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior managers

  • Ability to influence and be persuasive

  • Ability to take ownership and deliver medium and large-sized projects while mentoring and directing team members

  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and problems and follow through to completion

  • Proven track record of working effectively with team members as well as technical and business representatives

  • Demonstrated contributions to QA and IT process improvement efforts 

  • 3 - 5 years experience using HP Quality Center/JIRA or other defect/test management tools

  • 3 - 5 years experience with automated testing tools (Selenium, QTP) approaches and data query tools 

  • Demonstrated competency with database structures and use of SQL or similar querying language
