Job Description

BlueWave is hiring a 3D Modeler for an engineering and design client based in Orlando, Florida. As a 3D Modeler, you will provide junior-level Autodesk Revit support by developing BIM LOD 200 equipment representations for spatial planning and multidisciplinary coordination. You will work from existing models and available source information to represent approximate size, shape, location, quantity, and orientation without independently developing missing design details.

Responsibilities

Update and maintain Autodesk Revit models
Create simplified LOD 200 equipment representations and spatial placeholders
Model electrical enclosures, maintenance areas, and equipment access envelopes
Develop Revit families and generic model components when detailed models are unavailable
Produce coordination plans, sections, and 3D views
Integrate preliminary layouts, sketches, drawings, vendor information, and STEP files into existing models
Support coordination of equipment locations, access requirements, and spatial clearances
Replace preliminary representations as approved models become available
Maintain a tracking log of source information, assumptions, missing details, and items requiring confirmation
Escalate missing design information to the project team rather than independently inferring details

Requirements

Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit and 3D BIM modeling
Experience with multidisciplinary BIM coordination and model integration
Ability to interpret preliminary layouts, sketches, drawings, and vendor information
Experience importing and working with STEP files
Understanding of equipment access, spatial clearances, and maintenance requirements
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and take a proactive approach to assigned tasks
Education or experience in architecture, structural engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred
Experience supporting complex facilities, industrial equipment, entertainment environments, or similar multidisciplinary projects preferred

Employment Type: Four-week contract, onsite five days per week in Orlando, FL
Pay Rate: $30 per hour
