BlueWave is hiring an Electrical Engineer for an engineering client with headquarters in Baltimore, MDÂ 21201. The Electrical Engineer is a hands-on design position engaged in the circuit design and sustaining of products designed by an in-house creative team as custom solutions for clients. As part of a cross-functional team, this person has the responsibility of designing, implementing, and testing circuit design as well as consulting on firmware design and mechanical design. This person would also act as a mentor and coach to engineering interns.
ÂResponsibilities:
Experience in analog and digital circuit design
Utilize engineering CAD software, including fusion and PCB Design software packages
Troubleshoot PCBs to the Component Level
Create embedded software programming in C/C++ for circuit testing and troubleshooting.
Surface mount soldering as necessary
Prepare correct first-time designs for manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
Work on the Research and Development team to develop cutting-edge visual technologies
Interface with the manufacturing team to bring an R&D product to final manufacture
Design and produce detailed schematics, manufacturing drawings, cable schedules, wiring lists, parts lists, test sheets
Produce and maintain detailed Bills of Materials and assembly drawings and consult with Assembly Engineers to ensure understanding of the project
Continually research new products that meet the technical requirements and design needs of current or upcoming projects
Build and maintain relationships with external suppliers, advise on end-of-life and manufacturer trends
Interface with compliance to provide all necessary documentation to obtain 3rd party certifications.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience
Able to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment on projects with short lifecycles.
Knowledge of circuit design and electronics principles
Experience with microprocessors, including STM32, PIC32, and Atmel MCUs
Knowledge of SPI, I2C, RS232, and RS485 communication protocols
Experience with Altium PCB design software
Working knowledge of necessary lab equipment, including digital multimeter and oscilloscope
