Job Description

BlueWave is hiring an Electrical Engineer for an engineering client with headquarters in Baltimore, MD 21201. The Electrical Engineer is a hands-on design position engaged in the circuit design and sustaining of products designed by an in-house creative team as custom solutions for clients. As part of a cross-functional team, this person has the responsibility of designing, implementing, and testing circuit design as well as consulting on firmware design and mechanical design. This person would also act as a mentor and coach to engineering interns.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Experience in analog and digital circuit design

  • Utilize engineering CAD software, including fusion and PCB Design software packages

  • Troubleshoot PCBs to the Component Level

  • Create embedded software programming in C/C++ for circuit testing and troubleshooting.

  • Surface mount soldering as necessary

  • Prepare correct first-time designs for manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.

  • Work on the Research and Development team to develop cutting-edge visual technologies

  • Interface with the manufacturing team to bring an R&D product to final manufacture

  • Design and produce detailed schematics, manufacturing drawings, cable schedules, wiring lists, parts lists, test sheets

  • Produce and maintain detailed Bills of Materials and assembly drawings and consult with Assembly Engineers to ensure understanding of the project

  • Continually research new products that meet the technical requirements and design needs of current or upcoming projects

  • Build and maintain relationships with external suppliers, advise on end-of-life and manufacturer trends

  • Interface with compliance to provide all necessary documentation to obtain 3rd party certifications.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience

  • Able to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment on projects with short lifecycles.

  • Knowledge of circuit design and electronics principles

  • Experience with microprocessors, including STM32, PIC32, and Atmel MCUs

  • Knowledge of SPI, I2C, RS232, and RS485 communication protocols

  • Experience with Altium PCB design software

  • Working knowledge of necessary lab equipment, including digital multimeter and oscilloscope
