BlueWave is hiring an EHS Safety Manager for an aerospace/engineering client with headquarters in Cape Canaveral. As EHS Safety manager, you will be responsible for:
 
Responsibilities: 

• Lead site-level EHS operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and safety standards.
• Oversee safe operations on active construction sites involving cranes, earth-moving equipment, elevated work, and other high-risk activities.
• Develop and implement processes for effective shift handoff communications, ensuring continuity of safety measures across day and night crews.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify risks and ensure mitigation strategies are in place and enforced.
• Partner with site leadership, engineering, and contractors to proactively identify hazards and drive continuous improvement in safety protocols.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; recommend and track corrective actions.
• Provide training and coaching to ensure all team members and subcontractors are aligned with safety standards.
• Serve as the point of contact for regulatory agencies and ensure all reporting requirements are met.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to safety performance, training, and compliance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of EHS experience in construction, aerospace, manufacturing, or heavy industrial settings.
• Proven experience managing EHS programs involving heavy machinery and active construction zones.
• Demonstrated success in managing shift-based operations and ensuring seamless handoffs between crews.

• Employment Type: 3-6 month contract, possible extensions and possible full time hire. Straight time pay + per diem if traveling.
