BlueWave is hiring a Facilities Engineer for an Aerospace client with headquarters in Central Florida. As a Facilities Engineer, you will oversee the design, construction, and operations of critical launch and production systems such as elevators, cranes, compressed air, and industrial door systems. You will oversee existing system performance and modifications, new system design and construction, companywide specifications/compliance, capital project management, and preventative maintenance efforts. 

Responsibilities:

• Act as a primary technical advisor for overhead cranes, elevators, industrial doors, and compressor systems including design, construction, controls, and equipment operations across all production, launch, and general facilities

• Troubleshoot equipment failures and issues to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance or operations crew

• Work with internal customers on equipment design requirements, schedules, and budget

• Responsible for project planning, scheduling, design execution, and performance to budget and schedule from inquiry through start-up

• Manage external design consultants, contractors, technicians, and equipment suppliers

• Ensure all equipment meets required codes and standards and work with regulatory agencies to review compliance

• Design and build building automation systems to monitor and control critical equipment remotely

• Monitor critical production and launch assets, identify failure modes and ways to improve reliability

• Confer with internal teams to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information

• Design, maintain and oversee maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule, and spare inventory to maintain equipment

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other engineering disciplines

• 2+ years of professional experience with elevators, cranes, industrial doors, industrial system monitoring, and data collection systems

• Knowledge in the following areas: overhead crane systems, elevators, electrical safety, pneumatic principles, rotating machinery 

• Knowledge of basic rigging safety

• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and/or similar design software

• Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain a license

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, parts lists, and schematics

• Strong fundamental understanding of motorized industrial equipment

• Professional experience with clean-room system design and maintenance

• Experience with variable frequency drives (VFD) 

• Project management experience in the aerospace or industrial facilities

• Familiarity with regulatory and industrial standards
