BlueWave is hiring a Software Engineer for an AR tech company with headquarters in California. The ideal candidate is a talented Software Engineer specializing in system-level development (device drivers, firmware, embedded systems) with extensive experience in AR/VR, robotics, or other sensor-driven industries. As a Software Engineer on the R&D, you will build the infrastructure and platform to support airborne-based augmented reality solutions.

Responsibilities: 

• Research and development of new sensing technologies, focusing on the software side.

• You will be involved with your teammates, from the idea of how the sensor system works to concept development, design coordination, and planning. You carry responsibility for the system throughout the entire process until the software release.

• Work with hardware engineers and firmware engineers to develop efficient and tightly integrated features

• Understand the performance requirements for each sensing system and sensor fusion, establish a feature model to operate within the sensor performance envelope, and develop procedures to verify quantitative and qualitative performance.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience with modern C++, developing, debugging, and shipping software products on large code bases that span platforms and tools.

• 5+ years of professional application development experience

• Bachelor or Master in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.

• Windows/Linux kernel and/or Driver Programming experience (Windows, Debian, Redhat).

• Experience with multiple Linux distributions (CentOS, REHL, ALAM, Ubuntu, OpenEmbedded, etc.)

• Embedded Linux development for various platforms (ARM, MIPS, x86/64, PowerPC, etc.) and board support packages.

• Experience with real-time and multithreaded applications

• Reverse Engineering (IDA Pro, Ollydbg, etc.)

• Experience writing software that interfaces with hardware (one or more of the following: device drivers, firmware, embedded systems).

• Strong CS fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, problem-solving, high-quality coding, code optimization, memory optimization, performance analysis, understanding of abstraction and modularity, critical path optimization, and tuning.

• Experience with low latency / high bandwidth real-time data pipelines, batch data processing pipelines, low power embedded systems, and integration of specialized hardware acceleration blocks.
