Systems Engineer

BlueWave is hiring a remote-based Systems Engineer for an entertainment client with headquarters in Orlando, FL 32835. As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and managing infrastructure to support high availability and scalability for diverse media projects, including VR/XR, animation, and architectural visualizations. 

Responsibilities: 

• Develop and maintain system-level architecture for content creation and data management systems. 

• Integrate and manage a variety of third-party tools and APIs. 

• Design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery solutions. 

• Monitor and improve system performance, conducting regular assessments and implementing enhancements. 

• Collaborate with IT and external vendors on the procurement, installation, and maintenance of equipment and software. 

• Ensure operations comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. 

• Document operational procedures and maintain system policies.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and equivalent experience. 

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering. 

• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with other programming languages like Go or Java. 

• Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code. 

• Knowledge of VFX and animation pipelines is a plus. 

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills. 

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 

• Certifications in relevant fields. 

• Experience in architectural visualization, editorial workflows, and GPU rendering. 

• Familiarity with AR/VR technologies. 

• Experience in managing large-scale IT projects.
