BlueWave is hiring a remote Tools Engineer for an enterprise technology client with headquarters in Orlando, FL 32819. As a Tools Engineer, you will be responsible for creating tools and pipelines that not only solve current production problems but can identify future-flexible enhancements.
Responsibilities:
Design, document, and maintain tools to extend and enhance the company pipeline and automated processes in the context of Infrastructure and configuration management; build automation and deployment with Unreal and Unity, 3D content creation pipelines with Maya, Houdini, Unreal, Photoshop, and Nuke, or Architectural design pipelines with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Photoshop, and TwinMotion
Work closely with the architectural design and digital media teams to ensure a smooth and efficient work process and address any day-to-day production issues.
Collaborate with supervisors and leads to determine long-term strategies and standards for our baked and real-time productions.
Collaborate with IT to manage and implement pipeline and compute infrastructure.
Investigate problematic patterns and trends and recommend new processes or workflows to address those problems.
Write concise yet thorough written and visual documentation
Hands-on end-user training with discipline supervisors
Requirements:
At least three years of experience developing tools in a visual effects, game, or animation studio.
Strong Python experience is required.
Strong understanding of PySide/Qt and building responsive models and interfaces.
Experience using most core CG production software: Maya, Nuke, Houdini, Unreal, Deadline, and Redshift.
Experience using ShotGrid and an understanding of ShotGrid Toolkit.
Experience working with multiple departments and stages of the CG production process.
Strong communication skills.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
