Job Description

BlueWave is hiring a Welder for an industrial manufacturing client based in Bastrop, Texas. As a Welder, you will fit, prepare, and weld structural components according to drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role requires strong blueprint-reading skills, safe material-handling practices, and flexibility to work primarily indoors with occasional outdoor assignments.

Responsibilities

Review work assignments, drawings, specifications, and required materials.
Fit and weld structural components, including large and rolled parts.
Perform flux-core welding primarily on A572 steel.
Apply required preheat and controlled cooling procedures when working with A514 steel.
Prepare materials and completed welds for inspection.
Identify drawing errors or part discrepancies and communicate required corrections.
Retrieve, handle, and track parts through established production workflows.
Maintain a clean work area and follow fire-watch, electrical, and site safety procedures.

Requirements

Professional welding experience with structural or high-strength steel.
Flux-core welding experience.
Experience welding A572 steel and familiarity with A514 welding procedures.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and weld symbols.
Experience with fit-up, rigging, heavy equipment, rolled parts, or forgings.
Knowledge of material preparation, preheating, and post-weld cooling requirements.
Ability to meet visual and penetrant-testing inspection standards.
Willingness to work Monday through Friday on a night shift beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Ability to work onsite in indoor and occasional outdoor industrial environments.
Ability to provide required personal protective equipment and basic personal tools.
